Vacuum drying

In a VAC mixer granulator with gasstripping vacuum drying the boiling point of the solvent is reduced by producing a vacuum in the bowl. The necessary drying energy is provided by heated bowl walls.

Validation

Evidence in accordance with the principles of the Good Manufacturing Practice that the procedure, processes, equipment, materials, work processes or systems lead de facto to the expected results (see also qualification).

Vertical granulator

The mixer shaft of vertical granulators is arranged vertically and the actuation is effected either from the top (top drive) or from below (bottom drive). In case of horizontal granulators the whole mixer or the shaft is arranged horizontally.

Vertical product flow

In contrast to horizontal product flow the transfer of the product is effected following the gravity from the top down and mostly via several building levels. The advantage is that no product pull over is required. The product is transported in a gravity-supported way with low-grade of energy consumption. A disadvantage is the required vertical installation height over several levels.
