For our location in Pune, India we are looking for: Chief Technical Officer (m / f / d)

Position Description
The newly created position is outstanding for the development and implementation of the strategic goals at our location in Pune, India. The site is to be expanded into a global engineering hub for engineering (mechanical, electrical) and the automation of our products in the pharmaceutical & food sector.
For this we are looking for a manager who will consistently build and expand the location with technical expertise and entrepreneurial skill in conjunction with the management at the headquarters in Osnabrück.
In individual, coordinated steps, responsibility for care and update of individual products is to be transferred from Osnabrück to the location in Pune. The task is to maintain the existing products and to secure the contract engineering by putting together order-specific solutions based on existing machines and assemblies. In this context, the engineering of specified but not realized solutions belongs to the area of ​​responsibility.
The job holder is responsible for the search, selection and hiring of suitable employees. It guarantees the quality of the work results in compliance with the order-related target costs and deadlines. Regular exchanges with those responsible for the discipline at the headquarters as well as ensuring smooth communication at the operational level are the main tasks of the job holder.

Area of responsibility
  • Management and disciplinary responsibility of the engineering at site
  • Responsibility for the deadline, quality and cost-effective contract engineering and software
  • Planning, structuring, monitoring and optimizing the processes to ensure quality, costs and deadlines
  • Capacity and personnel planning as well as taking suitable measures for personnel development
  • Coordination and optimization of all activities necessary for execution of the works
  • Ensuring communication between the locations
  • Regular reporting to the headquarters
Main activity The technical manager leads the teams integrative and manages the relevant interfaces. He ensures a relevant flow of communication and information. He actively promotes the teamwork of the engineering teams, consisting of mechanical design, electrical design and software development.
Necessary Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has distinctive entrepreneurial thinking and acting paired with leadership skills and high skills in interface management.
  • He has a high degree of independence and initiative to further optimize processes and procedures. He maintains a pragmatic and results-oriented approach.
  • With a pronounced hands-on mentality, he supports his team in achieving their goals
  • He also has very good technical know-how, an analytical mindset and a pronounced ability to make decisions and delegate.
  • The ideal candidate is characterized by strong communication skills and enthusiasm in order to bring the different employees together in the engineering teams.
Professional Requirements
  • Successful completion of an engineering degree (B.Sc.) in the field of mechanical engineering (preferred) or process engineering or electrical engineering, combined with an additional degree in business administration M.Sc.
  • Several years of experience in the engineering of process engineering systems, ideally with a focus on food and pharmaceutical applications
  • Several years of management experience in the described field of activity
  • Proven success in setting up and leading interdisciplinary engineering teams
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
  • Knowledge of English at C1 level, knowledge of German desirable
